Peter Pitkin Thomas, jr. is my full name, I was born in Washington DC in 1974. I spent my childhood, and teenage years living on a small farm adjacent to Waynesboro , Pa. A small, rural, village near the Mason Dixon Line. I developed an early affinity for nature from my sojourns into the local mountains. In my Senior Year of High School, I attended Penn State University as part of an 'early to college' Program. Upon High School Graduation, I enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania -Kutztown Campus. I studied Art Education, and Fine Arts in Kutztown. In the Spring of 1994, I left Kutztown and moved to Eugene Oregon. I continued to pursue art on my own, as well through Watercolor, and Figure drawing classes at the local community college, and Workshops held at the University of Oregon. I also participated in, and won several logo contests in the local area.
As circumstances of life dominated, I found myself enchained to various occupations, just to make ends meet. I continued to create art, in some fashion, but more as a 'hobby' - pursued in my spare time. I had occasional art related jobs, but mostly felt a distance from my passion. In 2007, after growing increasingly dissatisfied with the direction of my life, I returned to college to complete my degree that I started years before. By the winter of 2008, I graduated from WCC with an AA in Visual Communications.
In 2009, I founded Studio Atzen, my Design Firm. We produce high quality Graphic Design for, both, Print and Web media. Today I enjoy my life, in North Western Washington State, pursuing art, graphic design, skiing and alpinism. I revel in living life immersed in the aesthetic.
